Lbs Safe

How to lose 10-15 lbs in 2 months (baby safe)?
I have a 3 month old baby who is colicky and teething so putting her down a lot is hard. Dieting is my main choice for now. I’m a foodie, but I need to not eat everything that tastes so good. What foods can I eat to help me lose weight? What exercises can I do with a baby in a front carrier aside from squats?
You don’t mention if you are nursing baby or not. If you are nursing, then you shouldn’t really diet quite yet since you are basically making baby food plus feeding yourself. Just make sure you are eating the spectrum of healthy foods (even organic is possible–cost more but maybe it would force you to not buy other unnecessary foods to stay within your budget, plus organics are better for you & baby) with emphasis on the veggies and fruits (minimal meat) needed to get your nutrients. Keep a food diary–write down EVERYTHING you ingest both solid food and liquids, with an estimate of how much (ounces) so you can see exactly where you are overindulging and where you can cut back. Keep the diary for as long as you can (it’ll be a pain to pull out your diary every time you stick something in your mouth so it might make you think twice of eating something you don’t need). Then just start cutting back on the unnecessary things–sweets, fried foods, all the “bad” things. You don’t have to cut them out entirely if you don’t want to, just cut back which will cut down on your caloric/fat intake. And when you do cut back, enforce in your mind that, see, you are taking control of your life back, you are in control, not your cravings–and enjoy the feeling of being in control of yourself, revel in it, even dance around a little if you want (celebrate it). Every time you cut back, pat yourself on the back (mentally) and let yourself know you did a good thing. Do not criticize or punish or chastise yourself if you backslide, just mentally recognize that this is not what you want and you’ll improve by having control.
Exercises, walking is always a good, not-too-hurtful exercise. I am better at it if I have a specific goal I am walking to (otherwise, I’m likely to get distracted too easily). But also figured in the time and energy to walk back too, or as a last ditch alternative have a backup plan (like the bus route to get back home, or money for a cab, or someone you could call if you or baby can’t walk back home)–that gives you assurance that, again, you’ve got a handle on this walking and even if things go wrong or your energy poops out you won’t be stranded. You can probably also do lunges but make sure you know how to do them properly so you don’t damage your knee, hip, ankle joints (since you’ll had the extra weigh of baby on your front). You can so side slides (step, slide the other foot to the stepped foot, step, slide, step slide, then go the other way). Get your arms into it too, swing them, raise them, just make up some arm movements that work well with whatever your feet are doing and that you can do. You can do floor exercises (lying on the floor or a mat) and put baby on your chest while you do the leg lifts and flexes. You can sit in a chair, put baby in your lap, and life your lower legs straight out, one at a time and/or together at the same time slowly. You can ride a bike. You can join a new moms’ yoga class. Dance around with baby. Just start moving, that’s the first thing. And always make sure you drink plenty of water so you don’t dehydrate.
